Time In Cochin...

Ranjini was born in Cochin, Kerala, in 1982, to Haridas, a retired Air Force officer, and Sujatha, a homemaker. She has a younger brother named Sreepriyan. Her childhood in a typical middle-class Hindu family was serene until tragedy struck. At the tender age of 7, she lost her father to a heart attack. Her mother, just 30 years old, faced the immense challenge of raising two young children, with her brother being only nine months old. Ranjini’s maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. K.G. Menon, stepped in to provide unwavering support, ensuring the children received the best education possible.

Watching her mother rely on her grandparents for support instilled in Ranjini a profound understanding of the importance of financial independence for women. Determined to chart her own path, she devoted herself to academics and extracurricular activities. Her drive and commitment shone through as she excelled in school and seized every opportunity that came her way.

Ranjini’s journey into modeling and anchoring began at the age of 15, setting the stage for an illustrious career. Her big break came in 2000 when she won the prestigious title of Miss Kerala at just 18 years old. This achievement propelled her into the limelight and opened doors to further opportunities in the entertainment and creative industries.

While building a successful career as an artist, Ranjini balanced her professional commitments with her college education. At the age of 25, she decided to take a step back from her career to pursue higher studies in the UK. This decision marked a new chapter in her journey, emphasizing her dedication to personal growth and learning.

• At just 18 years old, she was crowned the winner of the Miss Kerala 2000 title, marking the beginning of her illustrious career.
• Awarded the UAE Government's Golden Visa in the artist/actor category in recognition of her contribution to the events, entertainment, and arts industries.
• Recipient of multiple honors for excellence in anchoring, including Best Anchor at Asianet TV Awards, Best Anchor at Asia Vision TV Awards, and others.
• Trustee of Humanity For Animals, a registered NGO dedicated to the welfare of animals [323/2015 registered in Book 4 Volume 842 of the Ernakulam sub-registry].
• Has taken part in official state shows such as The Biennale, Smart City launch, and several government functions in the capacity of Anchor.
• Was a sports anchor for the Indian Super League on Star Sports for two years running.
• Has done over 5000+ TV episodes and 1000+ stage events over the years, giving her an illustrious career in the field of anchoring.

• Executed various vaccination and sterilization programs, adoption camps, rescue, and rehabilitation activities with the assistance of a limited pool of volunteers in Kerala for animals.

• Has been involved in various charitable activities directly and through donations to better the conditions of the lesser privileged, such as the construction of homes/toilets, providing medical equipment and supplies to hospitals, donating food kits, clothes, tables, desks, cleaning supplies, bedding materials, sponsoring girl child education, COVID relief activities, flood relief activities, a project for educating the visually impaired, and several others.
