Humanity for Animals (HFA) is a registered NGO based in Cochin, Kerala, dedicated to the welfare of animals (Registration: 323/2015, Book 4, Volume 842 of the Ernakulam Sub Registry). Established in 2015, HFA was founded in response to the dire state of animal welfare in Kerala. The organization was also driven by the unscientific and often cruel methods society and the government employed to address the growing stray dog population in the state.
Since its inception, HFA has actively conducted adoption and vaccination drives, raised awareness through campaigns, rescued injured and abandoned animals, and rehomed orphaned pups. These efforts are made possible through a strong network of committed volunteers, enabling the organization to provide relief and care to countless animals in need.
Looking toward the future, HFA envisions establishing its own shelter equipped with a mini veterinary station to manage primary treatments. While this remains a dream for now, it is a goal the organization is determined to achieve.
As Mahatma Gandhi once said, “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” Humanity for Animals embodies this belief and strives to make a meaningful impact on animal welfare.
